For the main section of the homepage redesign, I really wanted to focus in on what the user is coming to the site for. The whole top section was measured to make sure that at least the whole main promo will be in full view.

We also removed the revolving carousel from the main promo. We viewed heatmaps of how users viewed the homepage and found that a majority of users never scrolled past the first promotion.

This top section also features a secondary navigation system: Shop by Category. We found that most users shop for products by what device they already own. This secondary navigation gets plenty of uses clicks.

The next section was created for users to browse categories of products but we ended up also looping in secondary promotions that didn’t warrant the important of the main promo section.

We also created a Best Sellers list to showcase our most popular products but this ended up being hard to implement and was put on the chopping block.
We tried to increase user engagement through showcasing User Generated Content. This section worked out great for a while but we found that users weren’t always taking great photos so we opted to remove this module.
This section was created for less important messaging such as Compre Products or Warranty Information.
